BACKGROUND
The Roy Castle Foundation and the University of Liverpool have organised International Lung Cancer Research Workshops in 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005 and wish to organise an International Lung Cancer Conference in Liverpool in July 2008 to be hosted at the new Arena and Convention Centre.
Professor John Field, Director of Research at the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Research Programme, The University of Liverpool Cancer Research Centre, has been the driving force behind the previous workshops and seeks to use the International Lung Cancer Conference in 2008 to publicise international clinical and scientific advances in lung cancer and to develop new partnerships which will stimulate the objectives of lung cancer research.
The proposed ILCCL 2008 will bring together worldwide experts and participants. The last lung cancer molecular biomarkers workshop held in Liverpool in October 2005, focused on a ‘European strategy for developing lung cancer molecular and clinical diagnostics and therapeutics in high risk populations,’ which has resulted in the publication of the “Liverpool Statement 2005” in the Journal of Thoracic Oncology (J Thorac Oncol 1:497-498).
The ILCCL 2008 serves as an opportunity to build on past accomplishments and develop future strategies for lung cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. The ILCCL 2008 will offer a wide range of topics, from translating basic science to cutting edge clinical practice and will also include a session on patient advocacy. The aim is to present the state of the art in the groundbreaking areas of lung cancer research and therapeutics. The programme should be stimulating and informative offering a mix of lectures, poster sessions and networking opportunities.
We intend to keep the cost of registration at the conference low to encourage attendance and therefore we need YOUR support for this important conference.
Pre & post conference tours to local visitor attractions will be organised, as well as a full programme of social events in some of Liverpool’s most prestigious venues, which will complement the conference programme. Associated pharmaceutical and industrial related companies, will be invited to exhibit at a concurrent exhibition, which will be held in the Convention Centre, throughout the duration of the conference.

Partnership Opportunities
There will be four main sponsorship packages available for companies and organisations wishing to join in partnership for the Conference. These key packages will be valued at £50K Platinum (1 Sponsor), £25K Gold (3 Sponsors), £10K Silver (5 Sponsors) and £5K Corporate Partner Packages (10 sponsors). Individually tailored proposals can be discussed at the discretion of the organising committee and the sponsor organisation.
