On behalf of the Sister Cities 2009 Host Committee, I would like to invite you to Belfast for the 53rd Sister Cities International Conference.
We are delighted to have been chosen as the location for the first Sister Cities International Conference ever to take place outside of USA and proud to welcome you, to witness at first hand the wonderful benefits the peace process has brought to us all.
You will see for yourself the changing face of Belfast – with its vibrant city centre with many new restaurants , hotels ,bars and shops – a testament to the resolve of both the public sector ‘s and private sector ‘s hope in our bold new future.
We are also working with Sister Cities International in Washington to ensure an informative and stimulating programme, including a local focus on speakers to complement the range of international speakers already lined up.
We will offer you the best of our hospitality at the receptions and gala dinner, set in some of Belfast’s most historical buildings and entertain you with the best of Irish and Ulster Scots music, dancing and singing!
But we don’t want you to restrict your stay to Belfast when there is so much to see around the province. Our supporting Northern Ireland Councils have designed various tours for you, so visit our Northern Ireland Tours Section and choose from trips around the province where you can experience our people and culture, our rich history and heritage.
